Building on a clinically advanced scientific foundation

Our research explores how bioactive compounds can support the body’s own protective and adaptive responses, from vascular protection and tissue repair to the modulation of pain signalling.

BBT-001 is a next-generation analogue of VCE-004.8 (Etrinabdione), a drug candidate that has reached Phase II clinical development in other vascular and fibrotic indications. Both compounds were co-designed by Professor Eduardo Muñoz Blanco, drawing on research into the mechanisms of vascular protection, angiogenesis, and tissue repair.

BBT-001 belongs to a family of analogues covered by a published patent application (PCT/EP2025/053266) developed at the University of Córdoba and the Maimonides Biomedical Research Institute of Córdoba (IMIBIC). BBT holds an exclusive license to the composition-of-matter patent application covering this family, providing a strong intellectual property foundation for its development.
